Iceland

I’m going to keep this fairly short and let the images below do the speaking. My wife Nic and I have wanted to visit Iceland for a long time and over the Christmas break decided we should book our trip. We were both really keen to go during the winter with the hope of seeing the northern lights. (Which did not disappoint).

We used Reykjavik as a base, which allowed us to take a couple of day trips to explore the Golden circle as well as some of the beautiful south coast as far as Vik. We also took a break from the road on our last day and spent the afternoon relaxing at the Blue lagoon which is a must for anyone visiting.

Reykjavik is a great city. It's perfectly sized to be able to wander and explore easily. There are loads of great restaurants and bars to dive into and escape the cold. Everyone we met on our trip was so friendly and keen to share their knowledge of the country.

Anyone who has been to Iceland will know just how beautiful and unique it is. Anyone who hasn’t been or is thinking about it, you really need to get there. Everywhere we visited was truly breathtaking and I hope my photos go some of the way to convey the incredible beauty we saw on our trip. Hopefully we will get to return one day and explore more of this incredible country.

All images below were either taken with the Hasselblad 500CM and the Carl Zeiss Planar CF 2.8/80 or with the Leica M6 and the Summicron 2/50 on Kodak Portra 400 and Fuji 400H. All images scanned and processed by UK Filmlab.

Singapore

It has been a very busy couple of months for us. After a year of planning, we got married on the 9th August in Suffolk. It really was the best day of our lives and everything went perfectly. The day after the wedding we flew off to Singapore to start our two week Honeymoon. This was going to be our home for the first 3 nights before continuing on to Bali.

Singapore is a fascinating place, it offers such a diverse mix of culture and modern architecture. Its also one of the cleanest cities I've seen. We had a fantastic few days and packed a lot in. Some of the highlights including cocktails at Raffles Hotel, dinner at the top of the Marina Bay hotel and walking along the southern ridges taking in the amazing views of the city.

Here is a selection of my favourite images from our time in Singapore. All photos taken with the Fuji X-Pro1 - XF 35mm & 18mm lenses and processed with Rebecca Lily Pro Pack III.

Venice

Venice

We were lucky enough to spend a long weekend in Venice recently. This was a joint celebration for my mums 60th Birthday and my Aunt taking part in the annual Vogalonga boat race.

We have wanted to go to Venice for a long time and were not disappointed. Arriving in Venice is like arriving on a film set. It is like no where else in the world I have been. Its an incredibly beautiful city with lots of culture and amazing architecture. We were treated to four days of perfect weather with blue skies and bright sunshine.

Venice is the perfect place just to wonder and get lost. Exploring the alleyways and weaving around the canals is a lot of fun. I took my trusty Xpro1 along to keep the weight down. There were so many incredible sights I didn't know where to point my camera, it really is one of the most photogenic cities I have visited.

Here is a selection of my favourite shots from our trip. All taken with the Fuji X-Pro1 with XF 35mm & XF 18mm lenses and edited with VSCO Film.
